Saturday night at The Horseshoe was a CD Release party and kick-off for The Dirty Laundry Tour, a tour comprised of The Last True Gentlemen, Mike Celia, and Fourlines, in which they are... well, collecting your dirty laundry, travelling across Canada with it, and even performing with it on stage. Yes, your dirty clothing can travel to a number of locations from Quebec to British Columbia. The three bands have different sounds, so if you're planning on heading out to see them, get there to see them all, you won't be bored.

The Last True Gentlemen

I've become a bit of a fan of The Last True Gentlemen. Just over a year ago, their EP found its way onto my desk, and I wrote up a review, after which I added a few of their songs into my regular iTunes playlists. Then I went to see them at Lee's Palace in August and truly enjoyed the live act. So next up was a promo shoot with them in November. Now their music has become part of my life.

At the kick-off party, they released a new CD single entitled Summer, that contains the title track as well as two other tracks Camp, and All Time Sight. The song Summer has underlying an late-60's feel that sits just right with me, something that I think they do well. I really enjoy watching and listening to this band, so check the dates and if the tour is coming to you, show some support, get out to see them, and say hello to them for me.

Fourlines

I hadn't heard Fourlines before heading out to the show, so I had absolutely no idea what they sounded like. But take a little hard-rock guitar, add a touch of Maroon 5 vocals, and a bit of a Justin Timberlake look, then sit back and enjoy. Frontman Kirt Godwin (vocals, guitar, keyboard) has a great voice and a cool stage personality.

Mike Celia

Mike Celia was first out to play, and his style of laid-back guitar and slightly bluesy vocals is excellent music by which to down your first beer of the night. He was backed by his brother David Celia on electric guitar, and with Andrew Clark on bass and Mark Ansara on drums (both of The Last True Gentlemen). Bring your sunglasses, his music might make you feel like your sitting out in the hot sun on a patio next to the ocean.
