Preparing for the release of their new album, 1up, scheduled for September 29th, illScarlett was in the studio recording a video for the first single Take It For Granted. The concept of the video was centered around throwing paint at the guys while filming it using a high-speed camera for (what turned out to be) slow motion paint-in-the-face action. It was hilarious to be there for the throw and then get to watch what was captured in slow motion afterwards, and I can't wait to see the finished product. In the meantime, check out these photos I captured during the making of the Take It For Granted video.
Check out paint-covered Alex, he almost looks evil! Be sure to check the full photo set for some additional frames...
Watching Swav take a bucket of paint was probably the most spectacular because not only did it look awesome hitting him, the paint would shoot off the drums and cymbals as he played through it.
Will took his bucket of paint right in the face from very close up, the paint bucket is only just out of frame. As you can see, he managed to keep it out of his eyes and mouth. There's a reason I tell you that, and that reason is...
Jonny took this bucket of paint in the face with his mouth wide open! After the paint fell to the floor, he spewed the paint out of his mouth, and when the shot was over he bent over a little and some of the paint actually came out of his nose. Oh man.
There were times when the band was a clean slate. During this sequence, the band played out the song all nice and clean.
