Birds Of Wales
Tattoo Rock Parlour in Toronto, Ontario on November 6, 2008
Full Photo Set (9 photos)
After having an absolutely amazing time at the Matt Mays & El Torpedo / Arkells show on Thursday night (more on that next), I decided to stop by the Tattoo Rock Parlour to see if I could catch part of the set by Birds Of Wales. I made it mostly in time, missing only the first three or four songs, so this ended up being my third time seeing Birds Of Wales perform at the Tattoo Rock Parlour.
They always pull a good-sized crowd filled with surprisingly beautiful people, which I will openly admit is part of the reason I go see them. I just like being there. Although Morgan Ross (vocals, guitar) is obviously the focal point for a high percentage of the crowd, it is Mike Caputo's guitar work that ends up being the focal point for me.
I've always thought their video for The Fine Art Of Ballet Dancing (link below) to be extremely cool simply because it may be the greenest music video ever made. According to their website, "it was shot with a cell phone camera, using only natural lighting, and for props we used an apple and a cardboard box, which we recycled at the end of the shoot". They also used a bike, and the video was edited using Bullfrog Power.
If you're interested, have a look at my previous sets of Birds Of Wales photos: 31 May 2008, 25 May 2008, 20 Jan 2008, and 7 Oct 2007.
