Revival Dear

Jerry Leger & The Siutation
hosted a CD release party in support of their recently released album Farewell Ghost Town. But before Jerry Leger took the stage, Revival Dear opened. Both bands have a country-rock influence, yet each band displayed their own brand of rocking out. The Rivoli was filled with friends and fans - everyone, including all the musicians on stage, had a great time. read more (22 words)

Vacuity

I went to The Horseshoe on Saturday night to check out a band I reviewed a while ago now: Vacuity. I was looking forward to seeing them on stage since I enjoyed (and still enjoy) a few songs off their EP. They're working on a full-length album, which explains why they played mostly new material. After one or two songs, the band found their groove and the crowd became rowdy. read more (75 words)

Trole is a hard working, hard playing four piece band from near London, Ontario that have apparently played over 700 shows since forming in 2000. Some unique aspects to their show are the way Jefferson plays and handles his upright bass and the fact they pump out their style of rockabilly with punk attitude and energy. read more (77 words)

Welcome to a new section of PETE NEMA simply called Concert Photos. This section will highlight just the photos of artists without all those lengthy and annoying sentences from me that describe their performance (sometimes known as "a review"). Instead, I'll just start with a few short sentences and then, WHAM!, straight to the photos. And so, here is the first entry of this new section. read more (163 words)

I'm going to write this review like Be Your Own Pet writes and performs their songs. Short and fast. And it's best if you imagine I'm screaming.

I went to Be Your Own Pet almost entirely because I love their band name. Can't help it, it just works for me. Love it. And with a 19 year-old energetic female lead, you know there's likely a few good photos to be had. So I went. After getting through the opening band without puking (seriously, more on that later), Be Your Own Pet came on stage around 11:25 PM. From the moment they started playing, the energy level was insane. Bouncing, head shaking, jump kicks, kicking mic stands, and writhing around on the floor were all part of the incredible pace. read more (296 words)
